On our Stone Age science day, we looked at the ancient structure of Stone Henge and explored the way it cast shadows throughout the day. We simulated this with torches and clay models. We discussed the ways the shadows changed in line with the height and angles of the light shone onto our mini structures. We concluded that the smallest shadow was cast when the torch was right over the top of the model. Like the sun would be in the sky at midday.
