The School Day

Our school day starts at 8.35am, doors open for children at 8.25am.

The school day ends at 3.05pm. 

 

We follow Derbyshire County Council's calendar; there are 190 school days and 5 inset days. Please see the link for the DCC calendar.

Sickness Absence

 

Please notify school by telephone of your child's sickness absence by 8.45am. Our phone number is 01629 812413.

Please see the advice below from the Health Protection agency about common childhood ailments and whether your child needs to be absent from school or not.

Medical Appointments

 

For routine appointments, such as dental check-ups, please try to arrange these out of school hours if possible. 

 

For other appointments / medical appointments please give us notice of your child's absence.

 

For urgent Doctor's appointments (on the day) please let us know as soon as you are able.

Absence other than sickness

 

If your child requires time off during term time for exceptional circumstances please contact the school office for an Absence Request form.

 

Monyash Primary School follows the guidelines set by Derbyshire County Council regarding applications for holidays in term time. Head Teachers from the Lady Manners cluster all agreed to follow this guidance, details of which can be found in the Policies section or on request. A holiday taken in term time may result in you receiving a fixed penalty notice; any monies received by DCC do not benefit the school in any way.
