What is Sports Premium Funding?

Sports Funding is money that is allocated annually by the government to improve the sporting and physical education provision for the children.

Purpose of the funding

All schools have to spend the funding to improve their provision of sport and PE, but there is freedom to choose how to do this. At Monyash C of E Primary School we recognise the contribution of physical activity to the physical and mental health and well being of our children.  In addition, we believe that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and a wealth of sporting opportunities will have a positive impact on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all children. 

Allocation

For the year 2023-24 schools with 17 or more eligible pupils will receive £16,000 plus  an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
