23/24 Governor names and roles with attendance
Welcome to the Governors' Section
The Governors are the strategic leaders of our school and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. The Governing Body should have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:-
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
You can contact the Governing Body via the school or you can email John Wood, Chair of Governors at jwood@winster.derbyshire.sch.uk. A full list of current Governors is at the bottom of this page.
Public versions of Governing Body and Committee meetings are available on request. Please contact the school secretary at enquiries@monyash.derbyshire.sch.uk or 01629 812413.
GOVERNOR INFORMATION
It is a requirement for Governing Bodies to publish information about themselves including attendance at meetings and any personal and pecuniary interests which they may have. A record of attendance at meetings is set out below as is a record of interests declared by governors .
You will note that there are a number of committees. The Strategy and Development Committee is charged with an overview of the strategic plan for White Peak Federation Schools. The Curriculum Committee reviews all aspects of the Curriculum following the revision of the Ofsted Inspection Framework in 2019. The Business and Resources Committee continues to oversee the financial security of each of the schools. At their July 2021 meeting, the Full Governing Body decided to streamline the meeting process and agreed that there will be 6 meetings of the Full Governing Body in each academic year and that meetings of the Business and Resources Committee (which will continue to report to the Full Governing Body) will be called on a regular basis to monitor budgetary, benchmarking, financial and personnel matters.
Save for Ex-Officio Governors, governors serve for four years. The governors listed below, give valuable service to the White Peak Federation school. The governors value your views and questions or comments can be directed to the Chair, John Wood, at: jwood@winster.derbyshire.sch.uk
