Welcome to Reception & Key Stage 1

Miss Hoe and Mrs Hunter teach in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. Miss Hoe works Mondays-Wednesdays and Mrs Hunter works Thursdays and Fridays.

Our classroom is always busy with lots of exciting learning activities on offer!  We love to have fun learning through play and following our interests.  

This term we will be learning all about festivals from different religions and cultures around the world and how people celebrate them.  We will have fun reading some stories from different religions including the story of Rama and Sita as we learn about Diwali and the story of Jesus' birth in the run up to Christmas.  We will be thinking about the history behind some of the festivals and in our Geography work, we will be finding out more about some of the countries in which the festivals we find out about are celebrated.

In Science we will be learning about what humans need to survive and about how a good diet can help to keep us healthy.

In Maths, Y2 will continue to work on their addition and subtraction skills and Reception children will be learning all about numbers and counting.
