Rider/Palfreyman Trust info for parents

The Monyash Trusts - still here to help.

The Rider Trust was established over 300 years ago in the Will of Ralph Rider of Monyash in 1709 - just 44 years after The Great Plaque.  Nothing changes! The Palfreyman Trust was the result of a bequest of Thomasin Palfreyman in 1837.

Trustees are elected from within the village and one is nominated by the Parish Council. Both Trusts are now formally linked and registered and regulated by the Charity Commission.

Trustees may have changed in the past 300 years but the underlying reason for both Trusts remains the same - to offer financial help to residents of the village - and, in certain circumstances, those living nearby, and to organisations within the village.

Recent grants have been for hospital visiting, university fees, training courses, and personal financial need. The Trusts have also been pleased to help Monyash School, the Village Hall and the Village Play Park.

If you think the Trusts could help you please phone or email the Clerk to the Trustees - John Caws - johntcaws@gmail.com or on 01629 736831.  Grants, and all conversations, are confidential between the applicant, Clerk and trustees.

John Caws.
