Sometimes letters can be pronounced in different ways. This week we are going to be focusing on the alternative pronunciation of the grapheme (letter) c. We have learnt the /c/ sound in words like cat, cot, coat, but it can also make a different sound /s/ like in the words acid, cell, icy.
Have a go at sorting the word cards in the sorting game and then read the 'Centipede Circus' comic. You can practise more by playing the Cheeky Chimps or Acorn Adventures games on Phonicsplay (don't forget to choose c).
