The logo for Monyash CE Primary School, which shows an Ash tree supported by its trunk, in the form of a cross, aptly demonstrates the relationship between the school and the village church in Monyash. The strong links between the two, since the original foundation, have been maintained and developed over the years. The vicar is automatically a school governor and along with a foundation governor leads regular services of Collective Worship in the church and school as well as end of term services at Christmas, Easter and Summer. The ‘Leavers’ are presented with Bibles at the latter service that are funded by the church. The school has a dedicated area in the North porch of the church where pictorial reminders of the topics covered in the various services can be seen. As part of the village community event, the school participates in Christian Aid Week, taking part in a special assembly and giving the children’s own pocket money collection.
